Richard Riddell - Director
Richard is an Executive Director and Principal of
New Zealand Assets Management with 25 years experience in the banking and
investment management industries. He joined Crest's Board in April 2009.
Mike Sullivan - Director
He founded Clearwater
Construction in 1984, a medium sized civil and building constructor, and
includes D & H
Steel amongst his other business interests. Mike joined Crest's Board in
April 2009.
Anthony J Hopkins - Director
After studying Environmental Biology Anthony worked for computer services
companies and then spent 16 years in several international roles with
Reuters PLC. He left in 2003 as a Commercial Director of the group, and
became a director of Crest in November 2006.
Nick Eady - Director
Nick was a director of a European composite materials manufacturer, SP Systems,
for nine years until 1999. Nick is a joint founder of Crest Energy: the company
was incoporated in July 2005.
Luke Gowing – Senior Environmental
Scientist
Luke is an environmental scientist with 15 years research and professional
experience in environmental projects in New Zealand, Fiji and Europe. His
particular focus is in on large scale projects in the marine environment. Since
early 2007 Luke has been assisting Crest with the environmental approvals
process, and co-ordinating and undertaking environmental investigations within
the Kaipara Harbour. Luke is a Director of
Argo Environmental Ltd .
Amanda Tobin - Treasurer
A financial markets expert with experience in fund management, global fixed
income markets, bank asset and liability management, financial derivatives and
structured product and fund creation. Also manages regulatory issues with
respect to balance sheets, the legal framework for OTC derivative transactions,
credit ratings, structured products and hedge fund of fund construction,
allocation and management. Graduated with First Class Honours in Mathematics
and Chemistry from Kings College, University of London. Amanda worked in the
Bank of England UK Foreign Reserves group, and then for Union Bancaire Privée
Geneva, managing very large portfolios.
Captain Jim Varney - Marine consultant
In his many years of commercial maritime experience Jim has performed several
key roles including Harbourmaster Auckland Regional Authority, President of the
International Maritime Pilots Association, and member of the Maritime Safety
Committee of the International Association of Ports & Harbours. Jim advises
Crest Energy on many aspects of the Kaipara harbour consent applications
including marine safety, pilotage and navigation issues, and vessel operations.
Garry Venus – Environmental consultant
Garry is a marine biologist with over 25 years experience in environmental
projects in South East Asia, New Zealand and the Western Pacific. Garry has
worked with international institutions including the World Bank, ADB, UNEP,
UNDP and WMO. His particular focus is coastal activities and power plant
developments. Since early 2006 Garry has managed the Crest Energy Kaipara
Harbour Project environmental permits process (applications for resource
consents). Garry is the founder of
Argo Environmental Ltd.
Bill Woods - Electrical engineer
Bill received his electrical engineering degree from Auckland University, spent
three years overseas and then completed studies in geothermal technology. Since
1995 Bill has managed his own consultancy and contractor TEAM Power Ltd and is
involved with hydro-electric, geothermal, landfill gas and hydrogen fuel cell
projects. Bill has 30 years practice in NZ electricity generation,
transmission, distribution, supply and utilisation covering high and low
voltage design, construction, operations, maintenance, project supervision,
contracting, consulting, inspection and training. Bill is a member of several
professional industry associations.
